Professor Kamran Mohseni's Research Group
There are two major reseach areas in the group. These are:
- Fluid Mechanics
We develop theoretical, computational, and experimental tools to study bio-locomotion and sensing, low Reynolds number aerodynamics, biological hydrodynamics, vortex dynamics, shock and turbulence regularization in high Reynolds number flows, triple contact point and two-phase flow related issues, flow control, gust generation and response, and dimensionality reduction for dynamical systems. - Robotics & Control
We develop hardware, software, and theoretical tools to investigate environmental sensor networking of severely restricted robots in severe environments such as in hurricanes and oceans. Current research activities include aerial and underwater robotics, bioinspired robots, soft robotics, vehicle control in severe environment, cooperative control, cooperative localization, bioinspired sensory system in fish and cephalopods, and reduction theory.
